Ms. Mokhtarzadeh graduated from the University of Oregon, School of Law in 2022, during which she externed at the Portland Federal District Courthouse with the Honorable Jolie A. Russo. While clerking, she produced Findings and Recommendations on an array of topics like social security disability claims, summary judgment motions, and habeas corpus claims. She also interned with the Multnomah County Attorney’s Office where she has successfully defended an adverse action arbitration case and provided guidance on HIPAA and data privacy compliance to the different county departments.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Mokhtarzadeh worked for the State of California’s Workers Compensation Agency as a Research Analyst specializing in data privacy, corporate compliance, and copyright. She handled an array of data privacy functions including breach mitigation, privacy impact assessments, and training. She conducted yearly corporate compliance reviews and developed and managed State Fund’s Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure Report based on NAIC model law and regulations. The culmination of her work was the management of an inter-departmental team and the development of a corporate-wide intellectual property report that documented the organization’s trade secrets and a corresponding risk analysis.
While in school, she was President of the University of Oregon Moot Court Board and a member of its Client Counseling team. She was also an Associate Editor on the Oregon Review of International Law. All these experiences have provided her with the understanding and skills to manage complex issues and the importance of effective cooperation to develop goal-driven strategies.
